Animesis began
in the hotel industry.
We began rethinking memory for AI with a question: when the person providing a service changes, how can their understanding of us remain?
Hospitality has long faced a challenge that sounds impossible
Buildings and facilities can be reproduced. Harder to preserve is the understanding built through service: what a guest values, and what makes them feel at ease.
People leave
A guest's preferences may first be remembered by one attentive member of staff. When people move on, how can that understanding remain?
Places change
Hotels within the same brand span different cities and experience changes in the times and their management teams. A guest moving to another city should not mean a change in standards.
Guests will not repeat themselves
No one wants to explain themselves again at every check-in. Having to repeat the same request takes something away from the experience.
This time,
no need to explain again.
Imagine a service experience like this: you leave a familiar hotel in one city, arrive in another and still feel at ease.
The preferences you shared before are already on record —
the pillow is the one you prefer,
your preferred drink is waiting,
and the front desk knows your name.
The staff changed. The city changed. The language changed.
What it knew about you was not lost.
That feeling of being remembered is hard to reproduce through facilities alone. It lives in the details, giving one experience a connection to the next.
A system shaped by years of practice
in the luxury hotel industry
One person’s good memory alone cannot sustain an understanding of guests through staff changes. Keeping that understanding in records for authorized successors to use is the lesson we took from hospitality.
The record follows the guest,
not the employee
Once authorized, the person taking over can continue using those records. Service need not depend on one person’s memory, and a change in staff need not mean starting from scratch.
The brand sets the standard,
not whoever is on shift
You ask not to be disturbed during this stay. Whoever is on shift, that request holds, and it is passed on at every changeover. If the request changes, the record changes with it.
Staff rotate, properties are renovated —
understanding deserves continuity
Reception teams change, buildings are renovated and management moves on. What deserves to continue is the understanding carefully built along the way.
Continuity can be designed; it need not depend on one person’s good memory.
The same problem
has now arrived in AI
You tell one AI a great deal
Your preferences, your projects, the standards you judge by, the things you said not to touch. It took months, and it finally started to understand you.
Switch AI, and much of the background needs explaining again.
The new AI may be capable, but it does not automatically have the context you built with another service. Exporting records is not the same as carrying that understanding forward. In a hotel, that understanding stays with the brand; with AI, it should stay with you.
It is no longer just people who change, but tools and models too
In hotels, this problem appears when staff change. In AI collaboration, it also involves changes in tools and models.
What is worth keeping should not disappear so easily.
Experience across the years
The hotel industry has changed for more than a century. Buildings have been renovated, technologies replaced and management practices transformed. Yet the experience built by one generation after another has endured through those changes, becoming a starting point for those who follow.
Heritage through change
Heritage does not mean keeping everything still. It means allowing what is worth keeping to continue, so that every change need not start from zero. Remembering the past gives us the confidence to step into the unknown.
We brought that confidence and experience together
to create Animesis.
The name Animesis draws inspiration from Latin and Greek.
We draw from it an image of life renewing itself, with the hope that what is precious will not be so easily lost to time and change.
Memory turns past experiences into what we can build on today, and gives us the confidence to embrace change.
With heritage as our anchor and the stars as our sails, we set sail for the future.
